Swim-a-Thon 2011


The 30th annual Lake Samish Swim-a-Thon was held this past August 13th.  The event raised approximately $3,500 for the Volunteer Fire Association (VFA).  The VFA then uses the donated money to purchase equipment and supplies for use in the Lake Samish area.

Following are the swimmers (finish times in minutes) & their rowers in order of their finish this year:

  3) Kelsey Wilson & Chelsea Billings (158.35) & Becky Wilson, rower
  4) Hannah Levy (203.43) & Alex Levy, rower
  5) Bobbie Jaffe (210.12) & Jeff Jaffee, rower
  6) Sharon Belk-Kreby (217.41) & Joan Ellsworth, rower
  7) Lorraine Earle & Ian Earle (234.22) & Chuck Earle, rower
  8) George Juszynski, Mark Thorton & Damion Gibbs (310.52)

The Swim-A-Thon takes a tremendous effort to organize every year and we commend Vicki Hassi in the first year of her leading this event.
